How To Make A Pirate Treasure Map

Pirate treasure maps are great fun to make for kids of any age. For younger children it's a good idea to make the map before hand leaving them to draw and colour in details without having to wait for the paper to dry.

You will need: White copy paper Cool used tea bag Cold water Coloured pencils, paints or felt tips
Instructions: Rip the edges of your paper (as shown above). Take your used tea bag and dip it some cold water. Dab the tea bag all over your paper.
Leave the paper to dry on a plastic sheet or tablecloth, if you put it in a sunny spot or the airing cupboard it should only take half an hour or so.
Once it has dried out completely it should look like this.
Now you can decorate your map by drawing islands, trees, sharks, dolphins or volcanoes, don't forget to put an X where the treasure is buried!
